Centre for Doctoral Training on Machine Intelligence for Nano-Electronic Devices (MINDS)

The School of Electronics and Computer Science and the Centre for Machine Intelligence are proud to support the new Centre for Doctoral Training (CDT) in Machine Intelligence for Nano-Electronic Devices and Systems (MINDS) at the University of Southampton. MINDS was funded as part of the UK Governments AI Sector deal with support from the Office for AI and BEIS, totalling £100M to train 1000 PhD students in AI and Machine Intelligence over the next 5 years.

The MINDS CDT will recruit 12 students per year and will develop and nurture the next generation of technology pioneers who will have the skills, assets and network to innovate at the Artificial Intelligence and Electronics interface to enable systems with beneficial human impact.

The University of Southampton are offering a unique 4 year PhD training programme. We are well placed in the area of Machine Intelligence and Nano-Electronic Devices and Systems due to our experienced academic staff and facilities provided. Applicants are asked to write a 2,000 word proposal based on the topic list provided. Please read through the sections below for detailed application requirements.
